26th FIPS-Mouche EuropeanFly Fishing Championship

FIPS-Mouche has appointed Norway to be the host country for the 26th FIPS-Mouche European Fly Fishing Championship to be held in
Stor-Elvdal & Rendalen Region, Norway.
These Rule Modifications apply to the latest published FIPS-Mouche Competition Rules.
Article 2: General Information
2.2. Add Four sessions will be held in river, bank fishing, wading allowed.: One session will be held in lake, boat fishing.
Article 9: Bank Fishing Competitions
9.3. Change: The beats will be an average of 150m for Sector I and 200m for Sector II and III, 100m Sector IV, with buffer zones of 10 meters.
9.4 Add: If there is an island on the beat, the controller may control from the island, to keep permanent visual contact with the competitor. He must enter the island half an hour before the start of the session; making sure not to disturb the fishing water.
9.7 Add: Wading is allowed on the sectors and chest waders may be worn. The organisation recommends the use of a wading stick, to be brought by the competitors.
9.8 Add: Shuffling of the riverbed or excessive movement while wading is not allowed.
Article 10: Boat fishing competions
10.4 Change: Boats will be launched 15 minutes before the start of the session.
10.9 add: Fishing will be from drifting boats. Drogues will be used during drifting. Eye protection (glasses) will be used, life vest will be used. Eye protection and life vests must always be worn by competitors when they are in the boat. Two competitors on one boat.
Competitor shall bring their own eye protection and life vest.
Article 11: Duration of events, scoring and practice sessions
11.1. Change: Five (5) different scorings sessions will be provided for this championship. The five (5) scorings sessions will be held over three (3) days, fishing two (2) sessions 6th of July, one (1) session 7th of July and two (2) sessions 8th of July according to former FIPS-Mouche article 11.1.
11.2 Change: Each scoring session must comprise at least three (3) hours fishing time in each session according to former FIPS-Mouche article 11.2.
11.3. Add: The hours for fishing will be in the program of the championship: from 08:00 to 11:00 (11:30 on Sector IV) and from 16:00 to 19:00 (19:30 on Sector IV)
Sector IV with 30min rotation: fishing 08:00-9:30 and 10:00-11:30/ 16:00-17:30 and 18:00-19:30. Competitors rotate 3 beats (e.g. 1 and 4, 9 and 12...)
11.4. Change: There will not be official practice. The host organisation has provided information to competitors about official competition areas. Competitors can do unofficial practice for each type of fishing on similar waters nearby the competition areas prior to the championship.
All unofficial practice will be fished with barbless hooks.
Article 23: Care of fish caught
23.1. Add: When the competitor wants to score a fish, she/ he has to make sure, that the fish is all the time submerged in the water, while bringing the fish to the controller. If it does not happen, that fish will be disallowed.
Article 25: Eligible fish
25.1. Add: Eligible fish species:
Brown Trout (Salmo Trutta Fario), Grayling (Thymallus Thymallus), Whitefish (Coregonus Lavaretus) and Arctic Char (Salvelinus Alpinus) with a minimum length of 200mm.
Measuring will be done from the tip of the nose to the extremities of the tail, squeezed together.
Article 31: Prohibitions
31.1.a) Change: The fishing of competition sectors by competitors or their agents during a period of sixty days prior to the official start of the event: no fishing from 5th of May to 4th of July 2021.
Article 33: Awarding of points
33.1 points per fish: 100.
33.2 points per centimeter of the fish’s total length: 20.
